About my background

I was born in Mexico, where I grew up. My first memories are of my father reading bedtime stories until my brother and I fell sound asleep, and when he couldn’t quite succeed, he’d encourage us to create our own stories. The use of brain-power quickly drained us of energy, so I would say it was an effective method.

If you want to look for the reason behind my love for stories, that’s the very beginning.

Since then, I’ve been creating stories, adventures, characters and conflicts, all for the fun of it. However, when I discovered the written word held the power of projecting and sharing the stories in my head, I began working on and improving my craft. And I still am.

About my writing

Do you like fantasy? My favorite genre is fantasy. I’ve read dozens of novels since I was a child.

Among my ‘highlight’ authors are Charlie Fletcher (Stoneheart Trilogy, Oversight Trilogy), J.R.R. Tolkien (the man himself: The Lord of the Rings), Andrej Sapkowski (The Witcher), Christopher Paolini (The Inheritance Cycle), Brandon Sanderson (Mistborn Trilogy), Rick Riordan (Percy Jackson, Kane Chronicles), Micheal Scott (The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel), Mark Lawrence (The Broken Empire), Partick Rothfuss (The Kingkiller Chronicle)… I could go on for ages. Needless to say, fantasy is what I write most about, in the form of short stories and novelettes.

“But, Ale, I don’t see many fantasy-related posts.”

Correct. I’m still working on building this site, little by little, so for now what you’ll see most are posts about my writing process.

“So… writing is your hobby, or did you study to be a writer as well?”

Although I was part of the literature group during college, I never ‘officially’ studied to be a writer. I’ve practiced my craft independently throughout my career and as I wrote homework, essays, and whatnot.

Now, here’s what you really want to know.

In this site, you’ll find information about my published works and posts that pertain to my writing process. Maybe in the future I’ll also write about the fantasy worlds my stories will take place in. We’ll see how that goes!

If you’re reading this in 2025, I’m in the process of writing my very first novel and building this website, so there’s more to come!
